Anorak Hour Nr 363 8th June 2003

This week's edition continues to deal with the aftermath of Black Tuesday, and the first recording on the show features a sketch from the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on Today FM in which ComReg take a trip to Cork to take Radio Roy off the air.

Then there are recordings from two brave stations who have ventured back onto air in Dublin. First there's some samples from Kiss FM - the only dance station to make it back. This is followed by I.C.E. FM's first station news since Black Tuesday.

Two Phantom jocks have made the move onto the National airwaves. Both are featured next, first is Alison Curtis who now presents 'The Last Splash' on Sunday nights on Today FM. This is a sample from her debut appearance.
Then Cormac Battle is featured from his Sunday slot on Phantom FM from a few weeks back. Cormac will present a new Alternative show on 2FM from the end of June.

The show finishes with a look at this week's news.

Anorak Hour Nr 364 15th June 2003

This week's show starts with recordings of the legend that is Johnnie Walker.

This is followed by some television footage on the radio. From last week's RTÉ programme Questions and Answers, the debate surrounding NWR's licence loss continues.

Next there's an Atlantic 252 sound sampler featuring voices and promos from February 1997.

Then, from February 2000, there's a recording of Ross McKay on Hits 106.

And the archive section finishes by going back to the 80s with Gareth O'Callaghan 'Cruising' on Q102.

The show finishes with a look at this week's news.

Anorak Hour Nr 365 22nd June 2003
This week's show looks closely at the unique situation surrounding piracy in the North of Ireland. To start, there's the soundtrack of UTV programme Counterpoint in a special on stations based around the area dating from March 1985.

This is followed by an up-to-date recording from Derry station Drive 105FM, whose transmitters are based on this side of the border. This sample of Brian McGoo dates from April 26th 2000.

From March 1997, Northern Irish aimed but Louth-based Great North Radio with Ray McSharry on the air are featured next.

Then there's a sample of Belfast-based legal radio in the shape of Cool FM.

Finally in the archives section, some voices from one of the biggest ever of the northern pirates, Radio Carousel.

The show finishes, as usual, with a look at the up-to-date news.

Anorak Hour Nr 366 29th June 2003
To start this week, Marty Whelan's return to radio with 'The Voice of the Games' - the RTÉ opt-out for the Special Olympics.

Next there's a sample from a new addition to Dublin's FM band - although there's some old familiar voices. City FM is staffed by former Hot FM & The Vibe personnel, and this sample features station manager Mel Byrne and Frank Green.

Then, a close look at the end of an era in Irish broadcasting as Dusty Rhodes bows out along with the Most Wanted show on 2FM.

On a similar note, the innovative - at the time - Hotline show ran on both radio and tv for a period in the 80s. This sample features Barry Lang on the final tv show.
