APRIL 2003
Anorak Hour Nr 354 b/c 6th April 2003

On the show this week, there's some more voiceovers from BBC Radio 1, but this week from the '80s.

Forward to July 1998, and we find Bob Conway hosting the 'Best of Irish' and Dusty Rhodes in the 'Roadcaster' for 2FM on a Saturday evening.

Then, from September 1997, Pete Reed, Al Graham and Paul Clark close the experimental weekend rock service Spectrum 105FM.

Next, there's a sample of Ugly Phil on Sydney, Australia's Radio Nova from 2001.

And finally in the archives, by request there's a sample of ABC Power 104FM from Waterford.

As usual, the show finishes with Pete Reed's look at this week's news.

Anorak Hour Nr 355 b/c 13th April 2003

Guest presented by Steve Conway, this week's show opens with a recording of a national icon - RTÉ Radio 1's Gay Byrne at the time of a visit to this island by another god-like man.

Next, there's some output from late 90s satellite station European Klassik Rock, and in particular promos for the overnight sustaining service offered by the station.

In the early 90s, Euronet became an overnight sustaining service for Radio Dublin. The next recording is a promo for the satellite service.

The final archive item features Charlie Wolf on his nighttime show for Laser 558. The recording dates from September 1985 during the infamous 'Eurosiege'.

The show finishes with this week's news, presented by Pete Reed.

Anorak Hour Nr 356 b/c 20th April 2003

This week's show starts with some extracts from the 'Kenny Everett Story'.

Next, no longer 'missing', a short extract of Cassidy Jones from his time on Radio Luxembourg.

Then, some more AM output, this time from Robin Banks on air for Atlantic 252 back in March 1994.

Vintage Radio Nova is the next feature on the show with Colm Hayes & Bob Gallico on Breakfast Show duties. This is followed by some Nova promotional material.

Following recent reports that London station Radio Jackie could return to air soon, the next item features a recording of their final moments on air from February 1985.

The final archive features Northern Irish ILR station Cool FM.

The programme finishes with this week's news presented by Pete Reed.

Anorak Hour Nr 357 b/c 27th April 2003

To start this week's show, there's part 2 of The Kenny Everett Story.

The next item is another of George Long's short pieces looking at the '80s superpirates. This time, he features Q102.

Then, the Anorak Hour goes west. Samples from local stations available in the west of the country, featuring commercial station Galway Bay FM and student station Flirt FM.

Finally Pete Reed presents this week's news.
