Anorak Hour Nr 323 b/c 1st September 2002

Dublin's Jazz FM is first up on this week's show. Recorded on 89.8MHz on July 15th last year, first Tommy Moore and then Jeff Collins can be heard.
A barricaded Radio Dublin is featured next with Eamon Cooke on air at the time of the infamous May '83 raids on Nova & Sunshine.
Counting down the hits, Jason Maine can then be heard on ARD in November 1977 - never mind the quality, feel Jase the Pace!
In 1984, with Radio Nova fully back in its stride after the 1983 raids, Pat Kenny's RTÉ Radio 1 show featured a look at the future of radio broadcasting, and ran a lengthy feature on Nova election before talking to some interested political guests.

Starting this week show, last year's events in New York are revisited with a recording from the heart of the attack area courtesy of local station WNYC. The haunting words 'The Trade Centre is gone' bring the excerpt to a chilling end.
Radio Nordsee International is featured next with a detailed look at the offshore pirate station.

To start this week's show, a look at the highs and lows of Tony Blackburn's long radio career to honour his recent success on an ITV gameshow.
Will Clarke is featured next on Atlantic 252 from November 1999.
From Boston, on 101.7MHz, specialist rock station WFNX is also sampled.
Next up, there's a recording of an interesting reception report received by Jack Russell whilst live on air on Scottish SW station Weekend Music Radio.
Finally in this section, more shortwave archived material is featured courtesy of Dublin station Shamrock Radio International with none other than Ger Roe himself on air.

Following last week's ShortWave features, more output is featured on this week's show with the final show from the UK's Radio East Coast Commercial in 1983.
Next, from January 1986, Gareth O'Callaghan made his debut on BBC Radio 2 at an ungodly hour!
Gareth - as Tony Gareth - is also one of the voices from Radio Dublin in 1979 which is featured next.
Then, from 1998 on 2FM - Gerry Ryan interviews Liam Tuohy, who was also one of the Radio Dublin featured voices!
John Clarke, also on 2FM, is then featured from August 1999.
Top 90s dance pirate Pulse FM is next with Jon Power - who eventually moved to 2FM - on air.
Finally, fun and games at Radio Dublin,with the barricades up in February 1989.

The Radio Dublin theme continues this week with output from February 1989, when the station ran all pre-recorded material.
Next, in March 1981, on Radio Dublin, Adrian St James had a look at Radio Caroline.
In 1979, this clip features a recording around the time of aerial sabotage at Radio Dublin from a next door neighbour!
Suzi Quatro is featured next, with her first broadcast on BBC Radio 2.
Next, from 1994 Dublin rock station Alcatraz 100.3 is featured, with two on-air presenters who are now with Phantom FM.
On 199 metres MW, a recording of Ringsend Radio from 1982 with Mick Nugent (currently in the news) on air is featured next.
From May 2000, Lite Fm on launch day with Liam Quigley is the final recording - sort of - in this week's archives section.
