NOVEMBER 2002
Anorak Hour Nr 332 b/c 3rd November 2002

Century Radio is remembered this week, starting with a recording from November 1991 featuring Ray Summer's Late Night Club Mix.
This is followed by a recording from the station's launch day in 1989.
Pulse FM, the 90s Dublin dance station is then featured, with recordings from the station's final week on air in 1999.
Test transmissions from Phantom FM can be heard next on the programme. From November 1997, Phantom 105FM launched on a weekend-only basis.
A recording of Les Vickers on Hits 106 in is next on the programme. Les can be heard these days on Dublin's Country 106.8FM.
More test transmissions are next. This time a television station, but a special one. Some audio recordings from Nova TV, an offshoot of Radio Nova, from 1983.
Finally in the archives section, RTÉ's Wild World of Radio programme from 1999.
Then Pete Reed takes a look at this week's news.

Anorak Hour Nr 333 b/c 10th November 2002

This week's show is a Radio Dublin special. The station is 36 years of age this month, and the programme looks back at the station's history through archive interviews.
Pete Reed finishes the show with this week's news.

Anorak Hour Nr 334 b/c 17th November 2002

This week's show starts with a historic extra-terrestrial radio communication from 1983.
Operation Novacare was Radio Nova's on-air charity auction event. The next recording - with Declan Meehan in May 1983 - took place at the start of a week the authorities showed little charity to Nova, and other pirate broadcasters.
More Nova, this time from November 1987 in the shape of a merger with the hugely popular Energy 103, is next. Cassidy Jones and Tony McKenzie present the afternoon show on the day of the announced merger.
The next item features Mike Murphy, who has trouble composing himself after he reads out a 'quirky' news item on air for RTÉ Radio 1 back in the early 80s.
From 1981, a recording of Concorde Community Radio on test is featured next.
Next up there's some American radio with Skip Kelly on air for Kiss 108FM in Boston.
Finally, Brian Butterly on air on north Dublin's Radio Caroline in 2000 finishes the archives section.
To finish, Pete Reed presents the news section.

Anorak Hour Nr 335 b/c 24th November 2002

This week's first recording is a sample of some of the voices of Atlantic 252 from April 1997.
Next, Steve Conway recalls some traumatic experiences of when Radio Caroline's ship ran aground eleven years ago.
The next item honours a listener's request with a look at Kiss 106 from Dundalk.
The final archive item features more radio from the Boston, USA area with rock station WBCN who broadcast on 104.1MHz.
Pete Reed finishes the show with a look at this week's news.
